homejoy is an app that connects freelance cleaners to homes and businesses while allowing the cleaners to name their own price.

The Challenge

“I wish I could find a cleaner without having to do the over the phone consultation.”

“I’ve never hired a cleaner because I didn’t know the price before they were already hired.”

The Solution

An app where freelance cleaners can meet clients without an agent. The app allows the user to decide on who will enter their home and for what price.

Survey & Statistics

Before designing the user flow and the design process, it was crucial to gather data that supported the necessity for the app.

The average American spends over one hour a day cleaning house, folding laundry, scrubbing toilets, washing baseboards, & so forth. Approximately 15.7 days a year.

In a small survey done with 60 people, it was found that 23 people have not hired a cleaning service because they believe it’s not affordable.

reported stress from keeping up the household.

How it Works

Step One

Step Two

Step Three

Take a questionnaire so we know what you’re looking for from your cleaner.

Look through the options in your area based on your needs. Chat with local cleaners.

Confirm the cleaner, date and time. Then wait for your house to sparkle.
